FREED NOT GREED FOR THE REDS

The Football League Paper - - LEAGUE TWO -

DOUGIE Freedman admits he will have to box clever in the transfer market this summer, with Nottingham Forest encumbered under a Financial Fair Play transfer embargo.

The Reds are currently restricted to free agents and loan signings after exceeding the maximum amount of financial losses under Championship rules, though the embargo is up for review in June.

He said: “It is no longer a case of going out and signing three of four and saying ‘Let’s have a go at this’.

“For the first time, we have to balance the books a little. It is unfortunate for me, and the media, because it might not be too exciting when it comes to signing lots and lots of players. It might just be a few shrewd investments coming in.”
