STEVE Morison hopes to make a mockery of the old adage ‘you should never go back’ and instead make it ‘third time lucky’ at Millwall.

The 31-year-old striker first played at The Den from 2009-2011 before being loaned back from Leeds in 2013 and this week signed a one-year deal for Neil Harris’s team.

And with 120 starts in a Lions shirt heading into the weekend, as well as 48 goals, Morison is confident he can eclipse his previous spells at the club and erase the relegation disappointment of last season.

“I am absolutely delighted and back where I want to be,” he said.“I’m excited about coming here and looking forward to playing games of football, because I have missed that.

“I know what this place is all about. I know what Neil is all about, I know what the fans are all about.

“I am not coming here under any illusions that this is going to be an easy ride.

“I am playing for my future and the club needs to get back to where it should be, and hopefully we have everything in place to get us there.”
