LACKLUSTRE WIGAN SECOND BEST
COVENTRY have not had the best pre-season but hit form at the just the right time to record this win.
Adam Armstrong, on loan from Newcastle, was the difference on the day with his pace causing Wigan problems all afternoon and posed a constant threat.
Armstrong could have easily added a third to his side’s tally but hit the post. However, once he netted his second the game was never in doubt.
Wigan never really looked like they were going to click and were surprisingly lacklustre throughout the afternoon. Will Grigg looked isolated as a lone striker and the move didn’t work out.
However, by the time they did manage to switch things up it was too little too late and the damage was already done.
