The Football League Paper - - WOMEN'S FOOTBALL WEEKLY -

AS a kid, everyone wants to grow up and play at Wembley. The FA Cup final being played there has been a long time coming.

The fact those Chelsea and Notts County girls have experienced that i s fantastic.

It’s been confirmed the final will be there next season too and that’s a big deal. I think the FA were seeing if they got a good crowd and a big TV audience – and they did.

Perhaps it wasn’t the best game in the world, probably because it was such an historic event being the first final played there, and I know both teams have said they could play better.

But it was still a good advert for women’s football. I was co-commentating on the day but I must admit I wished I was out there myself.

Who knows, maybe next year?
