TONY Mowbray has been around long enough to know that Coventry’s impressive start might not last.

The Sky Blues had a 100 per cent record in League One heading into the weekend – just months after Mowbray prevented them falling into the fourth tier.

But Mowbray, who saw promotion bids fizzle out with old club Middlesbrough, has called for perspective.

“I had two teams at West Brom – one that I inherited and one we managed to build – that had different qualities but were both exciting,” he said.

“The squads at Middlesbrough proved that they could get to the top of the league over 25 games, though we didn’t manage to sustain it for various reasons.

“This group has been put together over the past month and they’ve started well, so I think their longevity will prove to me whether they’re an exciting team or something that still needs working on, developing and adding to.”
