STEVENAGE boss Teddy Sheringham has conceded his ‘nice guy’ approach may not be working.

Boro have made a slow start to the season, exiting the Capital One Cup and suffering a 3-0 defeat to Leyton Orient in midweek, and the former England striker, in his first managerial role, admits he may need to look at himself rather than his players.

“We need to be more ruthless with each other and with the opposition,” said the 49-year-old.

“Maybe it will have to be no more Mr Nice Guy from me. I don’t know. Maybe that’s what it will take.

“We need to dominate teams.
