KYLE IS SO GLAD HENRI’S STAYING
NEW signing Kyle Ebecilio is looking forward to renewing acquaintances with ex-Arsenal team-mate Henri Lansbury after the Nottingham Forest midfielder committed his future to the club.
Ebecilio has signed on a season-long loan from Dutch side FC Twente but the 21year-old midfielder spent most of his teenage years alongside Lansbury at Arsenal.
Lansbury had been the subject of interest from Burnley. However, on Wednesday Forest owner Fawaz AlHasawi took to Twitter to announce the 24-year-old would be staying.
And Ebecilio, who scored ten goals in 60 appearances over the last two years for Twente, is delighted.
“I know Henri Lansbury from my time at Arsenal,” he said. “I remember him as a funny guy but I watched the game on Saturday and I see he’s really serious and leading the team. I’m really looking forward to seeing him and playing together with him.
“I feel like it’s a warm club, a family club, and the city’s also nice. When I first heard about Nottingham I was thinking it was quite a ‘grey’ city, but when I came here it was really nice – like a small Amsterdam.
“I’m very happy to be here. I’ve waited a long time for this moment and I can’t wait to get started.”
