The Football League Paper - - LEAGUE TWO -

ON THIS evidence, Bristol Rovers look better equipped to make an impact on League Two than the team who pipped them to the Conference title.

The visitors were caught out by an early set-piece and, while they created some good chances before their goal, were generally second best to a home side who counterattacked with increasing effectiveness.

Rovers had more energy on the day and on the back of excellent away wins at Yeovil and Luton, look set to follow last season’s promotion joy with another successful campaign.

Dan Leadbitter’s injury was a blow and he looks likely to face a lengthy lay-off, but otherwise there was plenty for manager Darrell Clarke to enthuse over.
