‘GRANT’S A GEM’ SAYS VALE SKIP

-

PORT Vale skipper captain Carl Dickinson believes new team-mate Anthony Grant is destined to play higher – and he can’t believe Crewe let him go.

The 28-year-old was signed on a free transfer in the summer after being released by the Alex, despite finishing second in the player of the season vote.

And Dickinson reckons Crewe’s loss is Vale’s gain.

He said: “I think anyone coming here would wonder why Crewe let him go. I can’t see why he isn’t playing higher.

“He looks so comfortable on the ball and keeps it so well. In my opinion he looks like someone who shouldn’t be playing in League One.”
