ROVER OSCAR’S OUT TO IMPRESS
NEW Doncaster Rovers midfielder Oscar Gobern is keen to get his career back on track after joining on loan from QPR.
Gobern, 24, arrived at relegated QPR in the summer from Huddersfield, but found it difficult to break into the team and was restricted to two Capital One Cup games.
That saw him return to Yorkshire on transfer deadline day and he will now be at Doncaster until at least January, with the midfielder itching to see more gametime under Paul Dickov.
“I went to QPR to play and it’s not happened for whatever reason, but the gaffer here has thankfully given me a chance to play and I just want to show the fans what I can do,” Gobern said.
“I have to respect the players and the squad that is at QPR and how much money they’ve got. I went there and gave it my best, but now I’ve come here and I want to help Doncaster.
“Dickov has been great and since I’ve come in he’s said ‘enjoy it’. Ask any footballer and they’ll tell you that you have to enjoy it.
“Everyone has been great, from the kit man to the dinner ladies. It’s been top drawer.”
