CALLUM GETS A CHANCE WITH U’S
AFTER finding opportunities few and far between so far this season, new Colchester United signing Callum Harriott is targeting more playing time.
Harriott has been on Charlton’s books since the age of nine, but so far this season has featured just twice for the Championship club.
That saw the 21-yearold join Colchester on loan last Friday and the winger made his debut 24 hours later in the 2-2 draw with Scunthorpe.
He also featured in the U’s 3-2 Johnstone’s Paint Trophy defeat to Northampton Town and, after racking up three assists in his opening two runouts, Harriott admits he is enjoying himself again.
“All I want to do is play football, because that’s my passion,” said Harriott, who has made 76 league and cup appearances for Charlton.
“At Charlton, sometimes I’m playing and sometimes I’m not and nothing is said.
“I want to try and get back to doing what I do best, which is playing, scoring and assisting and hopefully move forward with my career. Game time is important.”
