FUTURE IS BRIGHT AT FRATTON PARK

The Football League Paper - - LEAGUE TWO -

FOR all three seasons Portsmouth have been in the bottom tier of the Football League they have built a squad which looks good enough to challenge for promotion.

Every year, so far, they have failed miserably come May.

But it feels different under Paul Cook. The losing mentally has been shaken off and the play- ers genuinely look a class above.

The back five purr with class, Michael Doyle and a rejuvenated Nigel Atangana sit in front of them with confidence but finishing wasn’t on show in this game.

The game totally deserved to be branded goalless, behind a lack of goalmouth action lay a brutal midfield fight.

Cook’s men remain unbeaten on their promotion quest but need to find a way of scoring.
