GPS row, then Jervis winner sees

DEREK Adams might have objected to Wycombe’s use of GPS systems during their encounter at Adams Park but the Plymouth boss was a lot happier with the only data that seemingly matters – the final score.

First-half goals from Reuben Reid and Jake Jervis eventually gave Plymouth the win, helping their side leapfrog Wycombe into second place and end the Chairboys’ unbeaten league run.

Jason Banton opened his Wycombe account with an earlier equaliser but that wasn’t enough to prevent the Pilgrims avenging their play-off semi-final defeat in Buckinghamshire back in May.

But for Adams, who held up the start of the game for six minute after questioning Wycombe’s use of technology, it’s another important away win for his side.

“To get off to a flying start was delightful. I thought we passed the ball well and continued that towards the end of the first half and start of the second,” said Adams.

“We’ve come away from home this season and won games and it’s important that you can do that in this league.

“It was a difficult place to come with the longer grass and narrower pitch so you have to get used to that.

“We started on the front foot. Reuben (Reid) was terrific as was the rest of the team. We’re quick on the counter and can defend too.
