NEIL Etheridge is intent on asserting himself as Walsall’s No.1 after winning his place back straight after the international break.

Etheridge has already earned 45 caps for the Philippines and replaced Craig MacGillivray for last weekend’s victory over Doncaster.

“It was fantastic for me to get my place back in the team,” he said. “The performances I had at the start of the season, I believe, justify why I got my No.1 shirt back.”
