McGUGAN BACKED BY BOSS

SHEFFIELD Wednesday boss Carlos Carvalhal insists he has no problems with Lewis McGugan, despite leaving the midfielder out of his squad in recent weeks.

The former Watford man, 26, who joined permanently this summer after a loan spell last season with the Owls, has spent a month out of the Wednesday side.

“He’s a player we believe in 100 per cent,” said the manager. “At the moment the players we have in midfield have a good dynamic.

“This doesn’t mean we are not happy with Lewis, or anyone else not in the team. At some point we will be doing the opposite question – Lewis will be playing, and somebody else will be out.”
