AWARD-WINNING MANAGER REALLY CUTS THE MUSTARD
A PUSH into the play-offs and manager of the month – it wasn’t a bad September for John Coleman.
Coleman took home the accolade for League Two after leading Accrington Stanley to an unbeaten month, and said: “I am just the recipient. I didn’t score any goals – although I wish I had. The last time I got any kind of award like this, we won the league, so hopefully it’s an omen.”
Barnet’s Michael Gash received the player award for League Two after scoring four in five games.
In the Championship, Aitor Karanka masterminded a perfect month for Middlesbrough, winning all four games, and he unsurprising- ly picked up the award.
Jordan Rhodes scored five of Blackburn’s seven goals in September and he also claims a trophy.
Finally, Rochdale’s Peter Vincenti followed up last week’s Unsung Hero award with the player of the month for League One, with Burton boss Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink also recognised.
TASTE FOR IT: John Coleman is hoping to push on after a great month
