The Football League Paper - - LEAGUE ONE -

IT’S not often I’ve been in the same company as Andrea Pirlo, Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Sir Alex Ferguson.

But my book ‘Journeyman’ topped the Amazon charts above those very stars of football not long ago.

Sales have gone really well, surpassing the publisher’s expectations. I’ve had some great feedback – especially about the dressing room antics at Crawley!

I wanted to tell people what it’s like being a lower league player: The reality of it and what people think are definitely two different things.

We talk about the insecurity of managers, but it’s the same for players – one-year contracts, 200 miles from home on £700-a-week. That’s not me moaning, I loved it and I had some great times.

Hopefully the book will find its way into a few Christmas stockings and I’ll rise up in those charts again.

I imagine Pirlo and Ibrahimovic, pictured below, were also looking at them on the week that Journeyman was at No.1 and wondering: ‘Who’s this geezer?’

NO MATCH: Andrea Pirlo
