SMITH TO STAY WITH SADDLERS
DEAN Smith believes Walsall will remain on an upward curve with him in charge, after the 44-yearold signed a new 12-month rolling contract last week.
It hasn’t always been plain sailing at Walsall for Smith, who took over from Chris Hutchings in 2011, but the Saddlers find themselves on the promotion hunt – having conceded just six goals in League One prior to this weekend.
“My current deal was up at the end of the season, so I’m glad it’s been sorted,” said Smith.“I feel like I’m getting better as a manager and I just want to keep developing. And I’m happy with how we are developing as a club.”
