COBBLERS FUTURE REMAINS UNCLEAR

-

UNCERTAINTY over Northampton Town’s future continues after the company responsible for the development of a new stand at Sixfields was forced into liquidation on Thursday.

A High Court judge took less than a minute to issue a winding up order against County Developments (Northampton) Limited at a hearing in Birmingham.

Sub-contractors Buckingham Group halted the construction of the east stand and brought the petition amid claims it is owed £2.9m by CDNL, and said:“We stopped work because we were not paid.”

CDNL is owned by Cobblers’ chairman David Cardoza, along with his father Anthony, and was set up to lead the project into building the stand and developing the surrounding area.

No-one representing CDNL appeared at the hearing to contest the winding up petition and its assets will now be liquidated in order to repay creditors.

This is the second time the Buckingham Group have had to stop work on the development of the east stand.
