DARREN FERGUSON must wonder what’s happened to the players he left behind in Peterborough.

Ferguson was sacked in February after a 3-0 loss to rivals MK Dons, a match where he hooked off Erhun Oztumer inside the first-half. Now back at the ABAX for the first time since that day, he watched the Turk get a standing ovation from the home fans after he and his team-mates tore Doncaster apart.

The visitors looked like the Peterborough side Ferguson left behind – slow and lacking a threat. His task will now be to re-energise them in the same way Graham Westley has galvanised Posh in the month he has been in charge.

Confident in possession and full of energy, Peterborough are fun to watch.
