YATES IN FREDDIE BACKING
CRAWLEY boss Mark Yates is still hopeful Newcastle goalkeeper Freddie Woodman will return to the club, but admits his immediate future lies with the Magpies.
The 19-year-old made 12 loan appearances at Crawley earlier this season, keeping four clean sheets, and could play a key role for the Magpies in coming weeks with Tim Krul and Karl Darlow injured.
Yates said:“Another loan was something we have talked about and it might happen, but we just thank Freddie for what he did in the time we had him.
“He certainly will not let anyone down if he plays for Newcastle.”
