ANTHONY BLOW FOR SOUTHEND
SOUTHEND manager Phil Brown has revealed he will be without midfielder Anthony Wordsworth for three months due to an ankle injury.
Wordsworth picked up the knock in training following a tackle from David Worrall and boss Brown will now have to make do without the 26-year-old.
“Anthony has ruptured his ankle ligaments and the bad news is he’s going to be out of action for three months,” said Brown.
“It’s a real blow for him and for us because I just felt as though he was finding his feet with us.
“It was a nothing challenge from Dave Worrall and it’s really unfortunate.”
