BAILEY BRINGS OUT BEST IN BEES
MARTIN Allen is confident the return of Nicky Bailey will spur his midfield options at Barnet on to their best form, after the 31-year-old made his second Bees debut last weekend.
Bailey left Underhill back in 2007 for Southend United, and has since turned out for Charlton Athletic, Middlesbrough and Millwall.
In his first spell he managed more than 100 appearances for Barnet in three years and following his return against Exeter, Allen believes Bailey will bring the best out of the likes of Curtis Weston, Tom Champion and Sam Togwell.
“I think he’s played a part already,” he said. “I promised changes would be made and we’ve got a good player there now waiting to play.
“So the people that are playing are well aware now the competition for places is full on.
“I still don’t think we’ve absolutely hit top form. I think there’s still more to come from this group of players.
“Nicky’s fitness levels are coming up to where the others are so he’s closing in.”
