CONOR’S GOT BOSS BACKING

The Football League Paper - - CHAMPIONSHIP -

PETERBOROUGH striker Conor Washington has the world at his feet, according to manager Graham Westley.

Heading into this weekend, Washington had scored 21 times in 81 Posh appearances since joining from Newport County in January 2014.

This campaign has been a struggle though, with just two goals from 15 appearances. But Westley is not concerned.

“In little ways, Conor can develop,” Westley said. “He’s got all the attributes to be sensational. I was speaking to a well-known football man and he was saying that if he got back into Championship or Premier League level, Conor Washington would be a player he’d look to bring in.

“Conor will become more clinical, that’s something you can learn.”
