AWARD’S JUST THE JOB FOR MILLER
MORECAMBE manager Jim Bentley insists there is even more to come from Shaun Miller, after the 28-year-old forward was named League Two Player of the Month.
Intent on making up for time lost due to injury, Miller scored six goals in five games during October – the highlight a 30-yard dipping volley in his side’s 5-2 win at AFC Wimbledon.
“Shaun is in great form,” said Bentley. “His professionalism towards his job has been first class. We felt once he got a goal to match these performances that he would go on and do what he does best; score goals. I’m sure there will be more to follow.”
After injuring his cruciate ligament while at Sheffield United, Miller never got a run of games after a move to Coventry City, and he admits playing week in, week out has made the world of difference.
He said: “I’ve not played much in the last couple of years so to get the award is very satisfying. The manager and physios have been quality. Hopefully now I can stay injury-free.”
