O’CONNOR FED UP OF AWAY WOE

The Football League Paper - - LEAGUE ONE -

HOME form is most clubs’ bread and butter but Michael O’Connor insists it is Port Vale’s away performances that need more attention.

Vale had lost three successive games away from home heading into the weekend and only picked up two victories from 14 appearances on their travels since March.

They face an FA Cup replay away to Non-League Maidenhead United on Thursday after drawing 1-1 last weekend.

Midfielder O’Connor, 28, said:“It’s now going to be 10 times harder away from home against a team like Maidenhead. They’re not a bad little team and work hard for each other.

“Also, our away performances have not been good enough this season.”
