RUMOURS are swirling about Coventry City’s future home but the club have dismissed reports of an imminent move to the Butts Park Arena as speculation.

Coventry are currently tenants to Premiership Rugby side Wasps at the Ricoh Arena but their existing contract expires in August 2016.

That has prompted speculation that they could move across the city to the 4,000capacity Butts Park Arena which is owned by Coventry RFC, although the club insist nothing has been finalised.

“Coventry City Football Club are aware of recent media reports linking the club to a move to Butts Park Arena,” read a club statement.

“Reports linking us to any long-term deal with the rugby club are only speculation. We’re currently exploring all options in regards to a new stadium to secure the club’s long-term stability. We will not be making any further comment at this time.”

Chris Anderson, an exfootballer and American university professor, took over as managing director last week and is open to all options with regards to where the club will play their football.

The Sky Blues have also convened a meeting with Wasps about the possibility of staying on at the Ricoh beyond next August.
