HASSELBAINK FOR HOOPS
QPR are set to appoint Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink as their next manager – and the former Chelsea striker could be on the bench for next weekend’s clash with Leeds.
The Burton Albion boss, 43, was first linked with the post on Wednesday, prompting the Brewers to insist no approach had been made.
Privately, however, the Hoops are convinced the Dutchman is keen on the move, with a source close to the club telling The FLP that the two-time Premier League golden boot winner is “almost certain” to replace caretaker Neil Warnock.
“I can’t control the speculation,” said Hasselbaink last night. “It’s very flattering and, don’t get me wrong, I’m an ambitious man but I can only concentrate on Burton.”
