GRANT Hanley says new boss Paul Lambert has wasted little time in laying down the law at Blackburn Rovers.

Gary Bowyer was axed a fortnight ago and a leaner, fitter Paul Lambert – who says he cycles up to 70 miles a week – is back in management after his own departure from Aston Villa in February.

And he’s immediately left an impression on Rovers skipper Hanley, 24, as Lambert looks to kick-start a team that had won just three games in the Championship prior to the weekend.

“The intensity of training has been top notch – and not just because it’s a new manager coming in and everybody wants to impress, but because of the demands he has put on us,” he said.

“With a new manager comes new ideas. Everything is a bit different, but it has been good.”
