ADEBAYO AKINFENWA vowed to put his celebrity status to one side and focus on performing for AFC Wimbledon.

The striker has gained cult status for his imposing physique, TV appearances and status on the popular FIFA series as the world’s strongest footballer.

But the 33-year-old striker has vowed to focus on the Dons and not get carried away.

“I'm a footballer first and foremost,” he said. “The outside stuff is nice but it’s secondary. I’m a League Two footballer getting known nationally and globally. It’s cool, I’ll count my blessings but it’s football. I want to do well for AFC.”
