GROUND VOTE JOY FOR DONS
AFC WIMBLEDON believe they are on the right road to returning to their spiritual home in Plough Lane.
Last Monday, Dons Trust members voted 98 per cent in favour of selling the club’s current ground, Kingsmeadow. It was the second ballot carried out by the Trust according to its rules and confirmed the result of the first vote.
The Dons want to use the funds from selling Kingmeadow to Chelsea to help them build their new ground. However, the sale can only go through if Wimbledon gain planning permission for a 12,000-seater stadium at Plough Lane.
AFC Wimbledon chief executive Erik Samuelson said: “We have passed a huge hurdle.”
