LEE CARS­LEY be­lieves he will hand the reins over to the new man at Brent­ford with the club in bet­ter shape af­ter ad­mit­ting he expects a head coach ap­point­ment soon.

The Bees have been with­out a per­ma­nent boss since Mar­i­nus Di­jkhuizen was re­moved nearly two months ago, but Cars­ley’s steady hand has them hov­er­ing around mid-ta­ble.

“My­self and the club both know where we stand,” said the 41-year-old.“I had a re­mit when I took over of try­ing to get us back on track.We are mov­ing in the right di­rec­tion.

“When a new man is ap­pointed the club will be in a bet­ter po­si­tion than it was. I would ex­pect some­thing to hap­pen quite soon.”
