POP IN FOR A DRINK BIEBER!

JUSTIN Bieber fever may have gripped Southend United this week, but Ryan Leonard in­sists his new celebrity sta­tus will not af­fect his game.

The mid­fielder be­came a global star overnight af­ter the Amer­i­can pop­star tweeted in re­sponse to Leonard’s unique cel­e­bra­tion fol­low­ing his goal against Sh­effield United ear­lier this month.

“It’s gone a bit mad to be hon­est,” he said.

“All the boys are ex­cited and we want him to come down for a drink with us in Es­sex.

“It’s a nice stor y for the club and me and has given us some ex­po­sure.”

And the 23-year-old has got some­thing spe­cial planned to cel­e­brate his next goal.

“We have some­thing lined up for the next goal!” he said. “I’m not sure whether Adam Bar­rett will join in with it but I’m not say­ing any more about it. Only cer­tain play­ers know the plan.”
