The Football League Paper - - LEAGUE TWO RESULTS - By Pippa Field

JIM Bentley is baffled by his Morecambe side’s defensive inconsistency this season.

The Shrimps’ defence fell apart in a 4-2 midweek defeat to Cambridge United, the second successive home game where they conceded four goals.

That was in contrast to their three away games before this weekend, where they kept three clean sheets.

“I am going over the same thing every week defensively,” said Bentley.

“All the little things that you speak about which we’ve done in the past and are doing away from home, we are not doing at the Globe.

“If you score two goals at home, you expect to at least draw the game, but you should be winning it.”

But despite his clear defensive concerns, Bentley did not bring a defender in before the loan window closed.

Instead it was striker Harry Forrester who arrived on loan from Blackburn.

The 21-year-old has been struggling with fitness after picking up a knee injury on loan at Bury 18 months ago.
