WIMBLEDON got their just reward for doggedly sticking to their probing of ten-man Orient.

Despite the Orient midfield trying to contain the visitors, the extra man finally told as the home side were overrun by Wimbledon. To begin with, it appeared as though Orient’s midfield diamond, mixed with clinical finishing from Jay Simpson, would see off the Dons. But when Neal Ardley threw on an extra attacker in Adebayo Azeez, it seemed as though a goal was certain and so it proved. After the disappointment of defeat on Tuesday, Wimbledon deserve credit for remaining positive and taking advantage of the extra man.

As for Orient, Ian Hendon would perhaps have expected a win but was left happy to salvage a point.
