The Football League Paper - - CHAMPIONSHIP - By Paddy von Behr

HE MIGHT have made quite an impression on his Wycombe Wanderers debut but manager Gareth Ainsworth says he won’t put too much pressure on young loanee Jermaine Udumaga.

The 20-year-old is on loan from Brentford and, after coming off the bench as a late substitute, played a crucial role in Wycombe’s second goal in the 2-0 victory over Crawley.

The youngster was initially set for a four-week spell with Ainsworth’s men but has recently extended his stay and the manager hopes to see more moments of magic from the starlet.

He said: “Jermaine had a great impact. He picked out Garry Thompson with a really great pass, which is something we want to see more of.

“The quality of the squad is such that players who come in on loan have to fight their way in, and when you get your chance you have to take it.

“He took some good touches. But he’s not just about the tippy tappy, he’s a clever player and he knows how to win a game.

“He’s an attacking player who has got one hell of a strike on him, but he’s still a young lad and we won’t be putting too much pressure on him.”

IMPACT: Jermaine Udumaga
