The Football League Paper - - LEAGUE TWO -

CARLISLE were without top scorer Jabo Ibhere and struggled to make an impact in the absence of their star man.

Keith Curle’s side lacked a cutting edge as they made a round trip of nearly 200 miles to Blackburn for a home match. But with games in hand over the other teams vying for promotion, they are still very much in contention for a place in League One next season when back to full strength.

Plymouth’s promotion push continues after their fourth win on the trot in the busy festive period. They were defensively solid and had pace on the break to cause problems, even after top scorer Jake Jervis went off injured.

If the Devon side stay injury free and manage to keep their loan signings, heading into League One as champions is a real possibility.
