GRAY LURED BY FOXES
HE’S been touted as one of the Championship’s star players – and now Birmingham’s Demarai Gray is set to test his skills in the Premier League with Leicester City.
The 19-year-old winger has earned rave reviews since breaking into the Blues’ team two years ago and it was clear he was heading for the top.
Premier League high-flyers Leicester have got in first, activating a £3.75m release clause, and, barring a lastminute hitch, the England U20 man will have the chance to help the Foxes continue their amazing top-flight season.
After yesterday’s 2-1 win against Brentford, Birmingham boss Gary Rowett said: “He’s a really good lad, he’s very humble and he’s just so ambitious that he wants to play in the Premier League – and he backs his own ability to be able to handle that.
“The club’s done all it can to be fair to him and do what’s right for us – some money will go to strengthening the team.”
