UNITED’S BELLUSCI DRAWING INTEREST

The Football League Paper - - FA CUP THIRD ROUND - By Pippa Field

LEEDS UNITED won’t let Giuseppe Bellusci go without a fight this month after manager Steve Evans revealed they have already turned down two bids for the centre-back.

Bellusci, who arrived at Elland Road from Catania in 2014, has been linked with a return to his native Italy during the transfer window.

The vultures reportedly began circling immediately but Evans is keen to hang onto the 26-year-old defender.

“I don’t get involved in the values but I know the football club did turn down two offers from overseas,” he revealed. “From that perspective, either the value has not been reached or he’s a part of the plans.

“He’s certainly a big part of my plans from a football perspective.

“I have just put names on a sheet of paper and said to the president, ‘I want these people to be here on the first of February’, and Peppe was on that sheet.

“Whether that’s had any influence, I don’t really go into that level of detail because there is one man here who will decide if an offer is accepted or not and it’s not me.”

WANTED: Bellusci
