IS AYMEN ANSWER TO THEIR PRAYERS?
ROTHERHAM are hoping the arrival of Tunisian international Aymen Belaid will help tighten their defence as they fight for their Championship future.
The Paris-born centreback, 27, made his name in Bulgaria in spells with Lokomotiv Plovdiv and Levski Sofia, and has signed a twoand-a-half year deal.
Manager Neil Redfearn said: “He has a good pedigree, after playing for one or two clubs across Europe, and he also has fantastic athleticism which is something that will help us.”
The Millers have also made two other transfer window captures. Defender Shay Facey, 21, has joined on loan from Manchester City until the end of the season and former Leeds and Chesterfield goalkeeper Alex Cairns, 23, has also signed to the end of 2015-16.
Rotherham are interested in re-signing former striker Alex Revell, 32, currently back with Cardiff City after a loan spell at Wigan.
“Alex is somebody we have looked at and there’s been dialogue between the clubs,” said Redfearn. “He’s one of several targets.”
