LEY­TON Ori­ent pres­i­dent Francesco Bec­chetti has been fined £40,000 and been given a six-match sta­dium ban af­ter he ap­peared to kick O’s as­sis­tant man­ager Andy Hessen­thaler.

The pun­ish­ment has been given out by the FA af­ter Bec­chetti was seen to aim a kick at Hessen­thaler at the end of their 3-2 home win over Portsmouth on Box­ing Day.

His ban will be held back pend­ing an ap­peal, al­though Bec­chetti ad­mit­ted his be­hav­iour amounted to im­proper con­duct. He did, how­ever, deny it was vi­o­lent.

In a state­ment, Bec­chetti said: “Mr Bec­chetti, is deeply dis­ap­pointed with the de­ci­sion that has been taken by the Foot­ball As­so­ci­a­tion Reg­u­la­tory Com­mis­sion, which he does not be­lieve re­flects the events on Box­ing Day.”
