ORIENT PRESIDENT PUNISHED BY FA
LEYTON Orient president Francesco Becchetti has been fined £40,000 and been given a six-match stadium ban after he appeared to kick O’s assistant manager Andy Hessenthaler.
The punishment has been given out by the FA after Becchetti was seen to aim a kick at Hessenthaler at the end of their 3-2 home win over Portsmouth on Boxing Day.
His ban will be held back pending an appeal, although Becchetti admitted his behaviour amounted to improper conduct. He did, however, deny it was violent.
In a statement, Becchetti said: “Mr Becchetti, is deeply disappointed with the decision that has been taken by the Football Association Regulatory Commission, which he does not believe reflects the events on Boxing Day.”
