The Football League Paper - - PROFILE ON -

NIGEL CLOUGH promised not to rock the boat when he took charge of a Burton side peacefully sailing along at the summit of League Two.

Five games and four wins later, he’s been as good as his word. Of the 11 players used in JimmyFloyd Hasselbaink’s final game, all but two have started each of Clough’s. Same system, same tactics, same results.

It’s canny management from one of the most pragmatic men in the business. And worth remembering the next time some cocksure sort turns up promising to “put his own stamp” on a perfectly good side.
