TRIPS TO THE TURF WERE NO FUN, SAYS BARTON
MIDFIELDER Joey Barton believes Burnley must start picking up more points against their promotion rivals or risk failing to achieve their goal of a return to the top flight.
The Clarets will face Derby County with caution, having struggled in head-to-heads with those around them in the Championship table this term.
They have taken just two points from their contests with Middlesbrough, Hull City, Derby and Brighton.
But, having won eight of their 13 matches at Turf Moor, Barton hopes home advantage can help them deliver.
“We’ve played all the top teams away from home and, apart from Derby, we’ve lost,” said the 33-year-old.
“I look at that and think we are definitely a better home side, though we were really good away last week.
