I FEARED THE END, ADMITS DAWSON

The Football League Paper - - LEAGUE TWO RESULTS - By Joshua Richards

FIGHTING back from a longterm injury can be one of the toughest challenges a footballer faces and Yeovil midfielder Kevin Dawson admits there have been times when he doubted if he would ever return to action.

The 25-year-old injured his hip in the FA Cup thirdround clash with Manchester United in early January 2015 and that ultimately kept him out for more than 12 months.

After undergoing a hip operation, he was troubled by groin injuries but finally made his return on Tuesday night against Carlisle.

And now Dawson is looking to the future as he tries to help Yeovil steer clear of relegation trouble in League Two.

“There was a time when I was worried I would not get back on the pitch but thankfully it’s all behind me,” Dawson reflected.“I have had a couple of operations and it was nice to finally be back out there.

“There was a stage where actually I was struggling quite a bit mentally but all the staff here have been great with me.”
