Make mine a flake please, Mike!
BIRTHDAY boy Michael Brown proved a cool hand with his Port Vale team-mates this week by turning up for training in an ice cream van.
Celebrating his 39th birthday, the midfielder hired the van off a local salesman to give the impression of a summer’s day in late January.
“Normally when it’s your birthday, you’re meant to bring in cakes or croissants or flapjacks – some treats for the lads,” he said.
“So they were saying, ‘come on Browny you’re getting on now, you’ve got to do something special for us’.
“We occasionally get a bacon sandwich or something like that for the lads, so they were saying for me to do a butty van or that sort of thing.
“I thought that a big bacon and egg sandwich shop isn’t ideal, so I thought ‘what about ice creams’?”
Perhaps a career with Rossi awaits the former Sheffield United and Leeds player, who looks an expert at making a 99.
