The Football League Paper - - CHAMPIONSHIP - By Pippa Field

MK DONS manager Karl Robinson admits the next week will see the club face their toughest challenge.

Having faced Chelsea last weekend, the Dons travelled to Cardiff yesterday. And over the next seven days Robinson’s side will play host to high-flying Middlesbrough, before hitting the road to take on play-off chasing Derby.

“When you look at the challenge facing us in the next few months, this club has never faced such a fight,” said Robinson. “It’s a fight we’re all willing to take on. It’s the challenge everyone wanted.

“We’re going up against the superpowers of the league. When you look at what Chelsea have spent, Cardiff used to be in the Premier League, and what Middlesbrough and Derby are spending, it doesn’t get much harder.

“We’ve only been in the relegation zone once in the last four months, so the players should be applauded for that.We have to make sure we’re ready and focused on each game, never looking beyond the next one.”
