The Football League Paper - - CHAMPIONSHIP - By Tom Blackett

ROTHERHAM UNITED have appointed Nicky Eaden as their new assistant manager on a two-and-a-half-year deal.

The former Barnsley and Birmingham defender has rejoined former team-mate and current Millers boss Neil Redfearn, filling the void left by Eric Black.

Sheffield-born Eaden has experience as No. 2 to Mark Cooper at Peterborough United and Kettering. He rejoins the Millers after a brief spell working under Andy Liddell in 2011.

“Nicky has really good experience at this level and has a good coaching background,” said Redfearn.

“He has experience (of the job) at Peterborough and has worked successfully with the development group at Leicester.

“He is good at working with and developing players – and that was really key to bringing him here.”

The 43-year-old has most recently been involved as a coach in the Leicester City Under-21 set-up.
