STEPH HOUGHTON says England fans can boost the Lionesses’ Euro 2017 qualifying bid by supporting in their numbers when they take on Belgium next month.

Rotherham United’s New York Stadium, which also staged last season’s FA Continental Tyres Cup final, will play host to the qualifier on Friday, April 8.

England have a 100 per cent record in their campaign, having beaten Estonia 8-0 in Tallinn before a 1-0 win against Bosnia at Ashton Gate, Bristol.

Skipper Houghton is looking forward to playing in Yorkshire.

“We can’t wait to play at home again in front of our supporters and to be back up North again,” said the Manchester City defender.

“Belgium will be one of our toughest opponents in this campaign, but hopefully we’ll get a good win and take another step towards qualification.

“We had such a fantastic turn-out for our last match, and we hope as many of our supporters as possible come and cheer us on against Belgium.”

Head coach Mark Sampson added:“Our supporters have been incredible getting behind our team and we love playing in front of them at home.

“They have played such a massive part in the Lionesses winning every competitive home match in the past two years, and we are determined to continue that record against Belgium.”
