SAVILLE DOUBLE STRIKE HELPS CHARM WOLVES FANS
GEORGE SAVILLE thought he was fighting a losing battle at Wolves before justifying his place in the team with a double against Derby County last weekend.
The 22-year-old midfielder left Chelsea in 2014 but, since landing at Wolves, has been farmed out to Bristol City and Millwall on loan.
Now, though, he is a permanent fixture in the Black Country after his performances for the Lions earlier this season persuaded boss Kenny Jackett to give him another go.
“It’s been a tough year going out on loan twice and thinking you’re not good enough to get into the team, but you have to be mentally strong,” said Saville, whose strikes against the Rams were his first two goals for the club.
“You have to block a few things out. You’ve got to stay strong, keep working hard and anything can happen. I’ve hopefully showed the supporters what I’m capable of.
“I’ve never doubted myself.
“I know it’s a cliché, but you can’t do it without support. That comes from your family and your friends. They’re pushing me and helping me through the tough times.”
