BRUNO STARS IN HEAVYWEIGHT SHOW
THIS match won by Cardiff’s superior defending, with Bruno Manga a rock at the back for the visitors and every player contributing to an afternoon of frustration for the hosts.
Bristol top scorer Jonathan Kodjia had an game to forget, dwelling on the ball several times with team-mates better placed. The home side’s delivery from the flanks too often found the safe hands of Bluebirds keeper David Marshall.
Cardiff were more clinical with their finishing and more adept at closing down their opponents. The confidence of a recent upsurge in form, which has seen them beaten just once in the last nine outings, was clear to see.
When their defence was breached, Marshall again proved himself the outstanding goalkeeper in the Championship and on this showing the Bluebirds will not be conceding many goals during the run-in.
Bristol need to sharpen up in front of goal, but they still showed enough to suggest they have what it takes to survive this season, with five points seperating them from the relegation zone.
